2010 - Chopin Year and double CD release In the Chopin Year, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter will dedicate a substantial number of recitals to the Polish-French composer's 200th anniversary, e.g. at Sorbonne university in March and in Cracow (Poland) in August. He will also be one of 60 pianists to perform Chopin's entire work for piano at the spectacle Bon Anniversaire Monsieur Chopin in February. In February and March, the revival of La Dame aux Camélias under the direction of Michael Schmidtsdorff at the Paris Opéra Garnier is on the agenda. Frédéric Vaysse Knitter will be performing the piano parts of the ballet's music, also by Chopin, alternatingly with Emmanuel Strosser.
Last not least, in April two new CDs by Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter will be released: His recording of J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations with the label AirNote (distributed by Codaex), with generous support of Yamaha Pianos, and the piano trios by Brahms and Dvořák, played by Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter, Viriginie Robilliard, violin, and Péter Szabó, violoncello, this time with Hungaroton (distributed by Harmonia Mundi).
Second Latin American Tour and CD Recording
After his great success in Latin American concert halls, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter will visit the southern continent again in October 2009, this time heading for Peru and Argentina. The audience is going to hear solo recitals as well as concerts with cellist Maja Bogdanovic and violinist Friederieke Saeijs.
Studio time was booked for a CD recording in November.
Concert with Sir John Eliot Gardiner
In April 2009, the Monteverdi Choir under the direction of Sir John Eliot Gardiner is going to perform Rossinis Petite Messe Solennelle with Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter on piano. The concert on Sunday April 5 will take place at the church of Marcillac in the French départment Aveyron.
Highlights in 2009
In upcoming spring, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter will be on tour in Poland, presenting a programme dedicated to Frederic Chopin and Karol Szymanowski. In fall, another tour will lead him again to Latin America. There he is going to perform solo recitals as well as playing with orchestra and chamber music with cellist Maja Bogdanovic.
Debut in Latin America
From April 24 to May 15, 2008, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter gave his debut in Latin America and received high praise from both audience and critics in Venezuela and Mexico. On his agenda were the piano concerto no. 23 by W.A. Mozart with the Camerata de Coahuila, works by Debussy and Moussorgsky, as well as the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach. Grand Prix Charles Cros and Prix ADAMI for “Monsieur Satie“
Both the Grand Prix of the Academy Charles Cros 2006 and the Prix Jeunesse ADAMI were awarded to the combined book and CD “Monsieur Satie, l’homme qui avait un petit piano dans la tête” that Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter has recorded with Ed. Didier Jeunesse. The text by Carl Norac is read by François Morel, the book illustrated by Elodie Nohen, and Satie's music played by Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter.
Goldberg Variations Starting in April 2007, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter will be touring Europe with Bach's masterpiece. Thanks to the generous support of Yamaha Pianos, he will perform on the same Yamaha grand piano, carefully chosen by himself, during all shows in France.
