EL NORTE, Monterrey (15/05/2008) Most striking about his style was his power to create a total beauty of the sound. Technical control was absolute. ... This and his ability to fathom each piece out, to understand and to project it, resulted in an interpretation of the highest degree. A Debussy shaped with so much sonorous refinement has not often been heard in this hall, in so supreme a technique, with a poetic nimbus and magical sleight of hand. ... Besides this Debussyan jewel box he gave a personal and impressive version of "Pictures of an Exhibition", a true example of his artistic maturity. No tugs and blows..., but an ample palette of colors, handling of tempi with certainty, nuances shaped with best taste and a sense of proportion that convinced from beginning to end.
